Scholarius officially supports documents up to 100 MB in size, and PDFs with larger file sizes run a higher risk of an 'uploading' failure. The most essential element to a successful upload is a steady network connection. While most broadband users are in the clear, users with slow or 'noisy' dial-up connections may have difficulty completing uploads under many circumstances. In case you have a bigger file to upload, please contact us.
Under certain rare circumstances, our upload system may choke on filenames that are unusually complex, especially those with non-English characters, which causes some uploads to freeze. Simply change the filename to something short and basic, and try again.
Scholarius will rename the files as per our nomenclatural practices.
WARNING: Do not upload copyrighted material for which you don't own the rights or have permission from the owner.
Due to indexing restrictions, Scholarius cannot accept password-protected documents. In case you've uploaded a file that is protected by a password, please upload a set of keywords as a separate TEXT file (UTF-8 encoded), for easy indexing.
Please check the password settings for the document before you upload. If the PDF is set to anything other than "No Security," then you must disable all passwords, re-save the file and then re-upload it to Scholarius.
Secured PDFs (also sometimes called "encrypted" and "password protected") cannot be indexed in Scholarius or any other website, including Scribd. A PDF is secured when the document's author uses PDF's built-in security mechanisms to limit features and prohibit further unauthorized editing by the public. Under the law, Scholarius respects the security settings of the original source document.
